About me

Few people have the "aha- or "lightbulb- moment in life, and I've been very lucky to experience it. After graduating from Queen's University with an honours degree in Life Sciences in hand, and 50 extra pounds in the belly, I thought I was destined for a career in medicine, albeit not completely sure in what capacity. I took a job with a pharmaceutical company and became quickly jaded with their "sell more, people are sick- mentality. Following my time with pharmaceuticals and a lengthy and varied career in the boating industry, some soul-searching led me back into healthcare and to ultimately discover naturopathic medicine. After 4 years studying at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), I graduated with the honour of representing my class as valedictorian. I am licensed to work in Ontario and have a family practice in Waterdown. I have written a naturopathic textbook with 3 remarkable colleagues, and continue to work at CCNM as an instructor and teaching assistant. I still find myself at a healthy weight living a healthy life with a loving family, and loving a career where I can combine my passions for helping others, educating them in health, and constantly being challenged by finding new ways to help you, naturally.
