About me

DR. SETH OSGOOD DNP, FNP-BC, EMT-P, IFMCP Dr. Seth Osgood was born and raised in Corinth, Vermont; he moved to Austin, Texas after graduating college and started his journey in healthcare working in Emergency Medicine as a Paramedic for Austin Travis County EMS. Pursuing further education and an expanded understanding of healthcare, Dr. Osgood attended nursing school and graduated from Texas Tech University. He then spent several years working as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at the University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin, Texas. After caring for many people in the Critical Care setting who had been devastated by the horrific effects of chronic disease, Dr. Osgood was determined to further his involvement in preventative health. He completed his Master's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio and went on to earn his Doctorate in Nursing Practice at the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Osgood discovered early in his career that Functional Medicine was his true passion after a Functional Medicine approach transformed his health, and the health of his family who needlessly struggled for years with digestive problems. He spent several years completing post graduate studies through the Institute for Functional Medicine and is currently an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFM-CP). Dr. Osgood's initial experience as a Nurse Practitioner was at Vital Life Wellness Center in San Antonio, Texas. At this Functional Medicine Family Practice, Dr. Osgood provided primary care and preventative medical services to both child and adult patients. Dr. Osgood later trained and worked under Functional Medicine expert Dr. Amy Myers at her clinic Austin UltraHealth. It was here that Dr. Osgood cared for patients from around the world with complex chronic health conditions, assisting them in their journey to optimal health using a Functional Medicine approach. Dr. Osgood moved back to New England to return to his home state of Vermont and spread the reach of Functional Medicine. He founded GrassRoots Functional Medicine in Lebanon, New Hampshire and travels back to Austin, Texas on a monthly basis to see patients there as well. His true passion is helping individuals to build a life that revolves around physical, emotional, and spiritual well being. He is blessed with a beautiful wife and four amazing children. When he is not seeking new educational opportunities, you will probably find Dr. Osgood on a lake or in a brook fishing with his children!
