Randi Hoffmann, L.Ac., M.S., M.F.A.

Founder of Rivertown Acupuncture, Randi Hoffmann is licensed to practice in New York, and integrates the use of acupuncture, moxabustion, tuina massage and dietary consultation into her practice.  She utilizes a combination of styles, including but not limited to: Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM), Japanese (KM-JA) and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Randi's sessions with you are tailored to meet your specific needs and goals, and may include one or several of the following:

KM Japanese style silver diode chains, diode rings and magnets

KM Japanese style ion and triple bypass cords

Her work carefully synthesizes these various styles and techniques into a harmonious and individualized treatment.

Education and Background

Before earning her Masters of Science degree with honors from Tri-State College of Acupuncture, Randi worked for many years as a teacher, professor and filmmaker. She holds a Masters of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University, a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern, and a Certificate of Herbal Studies from Flynn's School of Herbology. Subsequent to graduating from acupuncture school, Randi studied with Master Jeffrey Yuen, the renowned Classical Chinese Medicine teacher, for two years: Chinese Dietary Therapy, Classical Chinese Acupuncture and Chinese Stone and Gem medicine. Esoteric Acupuncture, the system of chakra healing taught by Dr. Mikio Sankey, is a integral part of Randi's practice. Additionally, she certified in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, as taught by Virginia Doran.

Prior to acupuncture, Randi taught psychiatric and traumatized teenagers how to write and create their own film, at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, and Cedar Knolls HS and Linden Hill School in Hawthorne, NY.  She taught many students at several schools the art of storytelling, storyboarding, and filmmaking. She has taught editing and production at Hunter College and SVA in New York City, and worked internationally for many years as a prize winning director, in Iran, Germany, Austria and New York.
