About me

Pam has been helping clients achieve their nutrition and fitness goals in her private practice (healthy weight management, vegetarianism, eating disorders, food /intolerances, autoimmune and digestive disorders) since 1997 after graduating from New York University with a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition and prior to that as a Certified Personal Trainer with the American Council on Exercise. While at NYU, Pam began teaching as a Teaching Fellow with the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies and continued to teach after graduation at various schools, including the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, Hunter College, CUNY and Phillips Beth Israel College of Nursing where she taught for 9 years, both in the classroom and online. Pam is currently Adjunct Faculty at New York Institute of Technology. Pam has worked at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC since 1999 as a Clinical Nutrition Supervisor where she counsels patients (pediatrics, adolescents, adults) on personalized medical nutrition therapy for diabetes, heart disease, oncology, weight management, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, liver and kidney disease, osteoporosis and geriatric nutrition. She has also been providing group education through wellness programs throughout the tri-state region as a Nutrition Consultant with Healthy Cooking workshops and various Healthy Lifestyle nutrition and fitness groups since becoming a Registered Diet Therapy Nutritionist with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Post-graduate coursework includes courses in integrative nutrition and in 2013, Pam received her Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from the T.Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell. She is currently a Research and Teaching Assistant at Saybrook University College of Integrative Medicine Health Sciences. Pam, a distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is a NYC and State Advocate/Spokesperson for the American Heart Association, an active board member of the Long Island Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and member of Diet Therapys in Integrative and Functional Medicine. Pam lives in Huntington, Long Island with her husband and kitties and is writing a whole-food, plant-based cookbook and enjoys healthy cooking, organic gardening, singing, boot camp, yoga, and any activity outdoors!
