About me
Hi. My name is Gil and I am a certified Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Nutrition) therapist from Borshim Campus, Tel Aviv University. In addition, I have a completed a diploma in Chinese & Macrobiotic Nutrition with Eyal Shpringer. I am currently studying Kiiko Matsumoto-style Japanese Acupuncture.
I have a BSc in Molecular Biology from Imperial College (University of London), a PhD from Oxford University (in Cancer Research) and an European Union (EMBO) post-doctoral fellowship at the Weizmann Institute, Israel. I have 8 peer-reviewed research publications.
Before studying Chinese medicine, I worked in Teva Pharmaceuticals for 13 years, leading the Global Multiple Sclerosis business. Though I appreciate the benefits of Western Medicine, I've come to believe that Chinese Medicine has a lot more to offer in restoring balance and maintaining well-being.
I currently work as a therapist in Refuot, Israel's oldest and most established Complementary & Alternative Medicine clinic. In addition, I work as an assistant in Acupuncture Studies in Broshim College and as a teacher, in Broshim and abroad on "Evidence & Research in Chinese Medicine-. I am also part of the International Community of Chinese Medicine (ICCM) Core team and the Evidence-Based Acupuncture (EBA) Team.
