About me

Danielle Kay Danielle has had a lifelong interest in natural health and wellbeing. Becoming a mother motivated her to train as a herbalist. She studied Herbal Medicine for five years at the University of Central Lancashire and was awarded a first class honours degree. Danielle believes we need to learn to work with nature rather than against it and use our natural resources sustainably. To this end she assists an Eco-club every week for the pupils at a local primary school and has recently completed courses in Permaculture Design and Woodland Management. She is currently doing the "Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong-Learning Sector- course, as she is passionate about educating others in herbal medicine and caring for the earth. In September this year she will begin working on an MSc in Herbal Medicine. Danielle also enjoys providing herbal first aid at festivals, where she can help people with acute sickness and injuries. She has done some voluntary work for Incredible Edible Todmorden, an award-winning community garden project. Her two children enjoy helping her both with her volunteer work and with growing their own organic produce on their allotment. In 2007 Danielle completed the VTCT Diploma in Reflexology, and sees this as a valuable adjunct to herbal treatment.
