About me

Hi I'm Dr. Maryam! Here's a little bit about me and how I can support you: I'm an experienced Acupuncturist & Doctor of Chinese Medicine, women's health expert, a compassionate healer, mom of two and a curious and avid learner. I help couples conceive, support expectant mothers in their pregnancies & postpartum time and help women to balance their hormones & menstrual cycles. It doesn't stop there. I also focus on acne, eczema, pain management and cosmetic acupuncture facial rejuvenation. I've successfully treated conditions such as PMS, irregular menstrual cycles, menstrual pain, endometriosis, PCOS, infertility, morning sickness, insufficient lactation & postpartum depression, acne, eczema and neck & upper back pain. I was one of the pioneer practitioners in the greater Vancouver area trained in cosmetic acupuncture facial rejuvenation and have been loving the results it gives my patients for the last fourteen years! I strive to make sure my patients are heard, understood, and genuinely cared for. I treat my patients with compassion along with a high level of knowledge and experience. Past Training & Pursuits In 2002 I completed the four-year doctorate program in TCM at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver Canada and a portion of my clinical training in mainland China. I'm licensed with the CTCMA as a Registered Doctor of TCM and a Registered Acupuncturist. Previous to my training in Chinese Medicine, I studied General Biology at the University of British Columbia (UBC). I've had the opportunity to appear as a guest several times on Breakfast Television and CBC Living Vancouver. I've been interviewed by Chatelaine Magazine, Alive magazine and local newspapers. I'm a regular contributing author for Medicinal Roots Magazine. I've been a qualified examiner with the CTCMA of BC operating and evaluating the practical exams for both doctor of TCM and acupuncturist designations. Previous to becoming a Chinese medicine doctor, I worked as a nutritional consultant advising on diet, nutritional and herbal supplements, and sports nutrition and also assisted in research studies at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) in the Cardiovascular and Nuclear Medicine research departments.
