About me

Dena is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), a certified health and wellness coach, and currently works in private practice and as a yoga therapist and wellness instructor for pain clinics in the Bay Area. Dena established Sunset Pain School offering self-management courses for students of chronic pain who are ready to take an active role in their mind/body/spirit healing journey.

She uses mind/body medicine to reduce pain for those who suffer from chronic pain.  She does nervous system rehabilitation which is proven to work.  She does this work to empower individuals to live their lives fully, and learn the tools to self-manage pain with little or no medication.  Lifestyle factors like stress, obesity, work-life balance and/or a sedentary lifestyle could contribute to one's pain experience.  She is uniquely qualified to incorporate wellness coaching with her clients.  She offers 100% individualized service and perhaps the best option for long-term self-management for those living with pain.

Dena from Sunset Yoga Therapy has specialized as a yoga therapist for chronic pain for the past 11 years, and in addition has worked extensively with the elderly and cancer populations. For a decade we have educated her students and the medical community on the power of mind/body modalities as a crucial component of any integrative health plan for people with pain.
